I am not sure if this is the correct behaviour or not, but whenever I enable “Hide out of stock items from the catalog”, products that have variations with stock management enabled, and have stock, are now hidden from the catalog. Is this normal?

    Hi @steveindzine

This doesn’t sound quite right. If you have a Variable product and let’s say 2 of the 3 variations have stock, those 2 should still show as available.

Here’s a test on my site where I set a red hoodie as out of stock, but the blue and green are still in stock:

This kind of problem is usually caused by either a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.

The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

    Hi Amanda,

I did some further testing and it is related to another plugin. I am using an Etsy imported plugin, and after the first import everything looks fine, but wp_wc_product_meta_lookup is empty. When I do second import (which is supposed to happen every new and then when something changes on Etsy) the wp_wc_product_meta_lookup has the stock_status column set to “outofstock”.

I discovered that if I regenerate the Product Lookup Tables after the first import, the subsequent imports are ok. Is the product lookup table a new thing? I think the Etsy Importer needs to trigger the regeneration after an import, but I can’t find out how to do that via code.

    Hi @steveindzine!

Is the product lookup table a new thing?

Yes, it was added in v3.6 and you can read more about it here:

    Cheers!
