Out of stock/backorder emails

    Also the customer receives two emails. One saying it’s out of stock and another saying it’s on back-order.

    I can’t see where I have to go control these emails?

    I’m trying to edit the email placeholder text but I can’t see the ones that go out for out of stock products/backorders

    Hmm, I’m a bit confused myself here. Emails for out of stock and/or backordered items are not included in WooCommerce by default.

    Can you please send us a screenshot of one so that we can confirm what you’re referring to? I recommend https://snipboard.io for sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on the page, then paste the URL into your reply.

    Also, could you please send me a copy of your site’s system status report? You can find it under WooCommerce > Status in the dashboard. Click “Get system report” and then the “Copy for support” button. Once you’ve done that, paste it into your reply.

    I think the text might be slightly different to the original text as I found it in Locotranslate so changed it from backorder to pre-order but I can’t see where it’s actually coming from.

    Hi there,

    There are settings for sending low stock/ out of stock notifications in WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Inventory: https://d.pr/i/OoVbkM

    Perhaps a customer’s email was entered in the email address field of these settings?

    Thanks! That must be it. I was testing an order with the same email address as was in there so I was confusing it with an order email. All good now – Thanks again.

    Hi there,

    I did some more testing and found that these notifications are sent to your customers when “Allow, but notify customer” is enabled in Allow Backorder? field of the Product data: https://d.pr/i/zMHrBP. When a customer places an order for a product that doesn’t have stock, but in backorder, they’ll receive these notifications.

    If you don’t want these notifications to be sent to customers, you can select “Allow”.
