    Hello,

I am having a problem with woocommerce that I have never encountered before and yet I have set up many online stores with woocommerce.
    Here is my configuration:

    PHP
    Version 8.1.18
    Memory limit 512M
    Memory usage 215.29 MB
    Max execution time 360
    Max input vars 200000
    Character set Utf8mb4 Yes

    WordPress
    Version 6.5.3
    Multisite No
    Memory limit 256M
    Max memory limit 512M
    REST is enabled Yes

    Theme
    Name Divi (Divi)
    Version 4.25.1

My problem is the following: Variable products are found, generally after an order, with this message:

‘This Product is Currently Out of Stock and Unavailable’

By going to check, in the backend, there is indeed stock and I have to click on “Save” in the product page to return to normal behavior. This situation is very annoying because I find myself with products that cannot be ordered by the customer since the Add to cart button and the choice of variations do not appear.

I tried to debug by deactivating the plugins except woocommerce and the Divi theme but nothing works.

When this problem occurs, the price no longer appears in the list of products in the backend. The low stock threshold is 3 and the out of stock threshold is 0.

Small clarification, my products, customers and orders come from a migration from Wix to Woocommerce. I also noticed a lot of expired transients (compared to other e-commerce)

    An idea ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @carolm29

This plugin is free here https://wordpress.org/plugins/cart2cart-universal-store-migration-app/ and that’s what I used. Then, we “shopped migration” on their official website: https://www.shopping-cart-migration.com/

One point that comes back to me, the migration took time because the connection was not happening and I contacted their support who took control and had access to the database.

In fact, the problem is not limited to the list of products that I gave but I confirm that this happens following a customer order so I am thinking of a change in stock.

Last point, I duplicated the site on a subdomain and also copied the database via phpMyAdmin and strangely, the weight of the copy of the database is half less than the original one.

    Thanks.

    Hey, @marocweb!

In fact, the problem is not limited to the list of products that I gave but I confirm that this happens following a customer order so I am thinking of a change in stock.

Since there was some back and forth on this, I want to clarify and confirm we understand which products this is happening to.

    • Is the issue happening with all variable products?
    • If not, do you see any other similarity between the products this is happening to?
    • When this happens to a product, does it always happen to it, or sometimes it doesn’t?
    • If you add now a new variable product via the default WooCommerce interface, does the issue happen?

Last point, I duplicated the site on a subdomain and also copied the database via phpMyAdmin and strangely, the weight of the copy of the database is half less than the original one.

Are you able to replicate this issue on this staging site?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

Just wanted to chime in because I struggle with a very similar issue for almost a year now on a clients website. You can find the related issue here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/variable-products-suddenly-out-of-stock/

What I learned so far (for my case):

    • It’s always variable products, and almost always right after they were being ordered.
    • It only happens quite inconsistently and not with every new order.
    • I have no migrated product data from external services, but initially migrated the wordpress instance from a development domain to the production domain. But still, even when I create a new variable product, that product goes out of stock after being ordered (sooner or later)
    • I also use Divi and I would not be surprised if it had some fault in this. But when I tested on a test domain, I could not recreate the error despite some manual and a lot of automatic, api-triggered orders. Especially the fact that 800+ api orders did not trigger the error let’s mer think that it must be some caching issue that is somehow surpassed when using the rest API.

Even though I did no migration from Wix I’m somewhat confident that this is pretty much the same error that we are experiencing (or at least strongly related).

I really hope we can find a solution for this!

    Hi @carolm29

    • Not to my knowledge but I strongly think that it was following an order. No for unordered products I have no idea
    • This bug occurred with a product published on March 20, 2024 while the Wix to Woo migration was made on March 4 and 5, 2024
    • Some products are recurring because they are ordered regularly
    • Not yet tested. The test copy has been made but I have not yet had time to test with a fictitious order and new products

I also mentioned the fact that the copied database weighed half of the original database. For what ? I have no idea but we will see once I have carried out the tests on the copy of the site

Thanks @tobija Regarding Divi, I have other e-commerce sites with this theme but I have never encountered this problem. On an ecommerce site with the same configuration (theme and plugin) as this one and generating a lot of orders, I do not encounter this bug.

Thank you all for your contributions

    Hi @marocweb,

Kindly let us know how the tests go on the staging site. It’s curious that the duplication got the database size down to half. Can you spot the tables that are affected by this size change?

I still think in your case there was a problem with the Wix migrated products, as those are the only ones presenting the issue, I hope some more testing on the staging brings more light as to what’s wrong specifically so those can be fixed!

Please keep us posted and let us know if there’s anything we can do to help.

@tobija, thanks for the 2 cents, I have built a lot of shops for customers using Divi, and I’ve never had this issue. I remember your thread; please share any updates you may have there, and let us know if we can help, too!

    Cheers!
