• It often feels like the world of WordPress can be neatly divided by which form plugin you use. Many years ago we bought into the Formidable Forms (Pro) ecosystem and it turned out to be a solid investment. We’ve worked with it in a myriad of different ways (custom displays, filtering outputs, capturing incoming parameters, querying the Formidable table, linking forms to external services and APIs) and for every need there was a corresponding hook or filter who could latch onto to get the job done. But we didn’t always need to custom build a solution, sometimes one of the prebuilt Formidable extensions offered the functionality we were looking for and an upload later we were in business.

Over the years I’ve referred to Formidable as the poor man’s Gravity Forms but the truth is Formidable is only slimmer in price. Strategy11 is well aware of who their main competitor is and Formidable is comparable is just about every way and truth be told, even excels in a couple important ways (I’m looking at you custom displays). If you’re only familiar with Gravity Forms let me be the first to suggest Formidable is an awesome replacement and one you might even fall in love with.
