  • But if you are logged out comments get the commentor email and name?

    WordPress version?
    OS?

Yes, when I am logged out everything is as it should be, but when I am logged in all comments post with my name and email address. (When I was notified of the problem, I tested it in both Firefox and Opera).

I am running WP 2.0.2 on Win XP.

    I am so perplexed.

I think I have it pinpointed to cookies that were set on another machine and never cleared. This was causing the person using the machine to be recognized as me. Further exasperating the problem is that I am using a pre-2.0 template that doesn’t conditionally point out (in the comment section) if the user is logged in.

It has been on my list to switch to a new theme – now I really have a reason to get it going.

(That, and to make sure I clear cookies on any machine I ever post from…)
