Support » Plugin: PG Simple Affiliate Shop » Organize many products

I like your plugin but I’m building a site that’s going to have dozens of products in perhaps dozens of categories and I’m wondering how I can efficiently organize it. To give you an idea, please go to

    > What We Sell > Fireplace and Hearth > Wood

    > What We Sell > Fireplace and Hearth > Gas

You can see the beginning of the architecture there, e.g. Gas Stoves alone might have the following categories:
Manufacturer (Regency, Valor, Vermont Castings, etc.)
What they’re made of (Cast Iron, etc.).. it’s going to go on and on (hopefully you get the idea).

I ideally need a more efficient way than categories (if I put categories in a menu it would be a mega menu) to let the viewer shop for specifically what they want. I’m thinking maybe a dropdown list? Perhaps you know of a complimentary plugin that would allow me to better organize all the products?

    Thank you,

    Hi John,
Sorry to have taken a while to get to you.
I couldn’t access the link you provided but I think I understand what you are looking for.
Perhaps a complementary widget you could put in the sidebar that would give a list of all of the categories and then the site visitor could select from this list. With a little CSS it could present as a mini menu.
Please let me know if this is what you were thinking.

Link works without the ‘wp’. Lovely site by the way!

Perhaps the Taxonomy Ticker widget is what you need. Or use the Cartpress plugin instead of PG Simple Affiliate Shop, that allows you to make as many taxonomies as you wish and can also act like an affiliate shop.

    Hi John,
I will consider an additional widget that will give you a simple drop down of all the product categories and sub categories.
    Thanks for the suggestion/idea.
