Organising content in editions or issues

    @immanence

    I’m trying to help a newspaper that publishes on a weekly basis move to WordPress.

    My question is: How in WordPress is it possible to organise posts in weekly editions, or issues? This newspaper has many sections (economy, international, opinion, sports, culture, for example). On the frontpage, when people click on those categories, it should only serve up the content of that week, not all the archived content under those categories.

    In addition, I want to be able to provide a link to the “Previous Issue”, meaning the edition published the week before the current issue. And when people go to that edition, they should be able to continue to click Previous Issue and go back through the full archive of weekly editions of the newspaper.

    Does anyone have a good strategy for achieving this? I looked at the Organize Series plugin (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/organize-series/) but I’m not sure that it will really do what I need.

    Any thoughts?
