    Hello Leslie and Event Koi!

I am using Event Koi lite on a local photography festival website, and I couldn’t find in the block settings nor in the documentation a way to order the events in the EK Events List block.

Events currently show in the opposite way I’d prefer them, from the farthest one to the closest one in time. I would have expected to see events happening closer in time to be on top, or having some kind of setting that allowed me to change or choose the order in which they are displayed.

    I wonder if that’s a design choice.

Other than that, I like the simplicity of your plugin and the fact that it works natively with blocks. The only other thing I’d consider changing is having a way to display events starting and ending on the same day without repeating the day.

    As an example:
    current: sab 29 nov 2025, 18:30 – sab 29 nov 2025, 20:00
    ideal (to me): sab 29 nov 2025, 18:30 – 20:00

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Piermario

PS: meanwhile, some weeks ago I localized Event Koi into Italian. There’s currently one string left to translate. I’ll get to it as soon as I find a fitting translation for it. Thanks! 🙂

    Hi Piermario,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

    List block ordering

Our current list block does not do that. However, we are in the midst of building a brand new block called the Event Query Block which is significantly more powerful than the existing Events List Block.

The new block will allow you to choose the order, filter by date, and have significantly more customisation options. Including a grid layout!

It should be released in the next 1-2 weeks.

Do note that when we release the new block, users will have to manually switch over as we will remove the List Block in later versions. There will be a one version overlap between the two blocks for users to make the switch. It might be a little bit of a hassle to do the switch, but we want to get it over and done with while the plugin is still relatively new with few users.

We’ll put up a prominent admin notice about the switch.

    Date display

I agree that it should display the way you mention it. We will fix the date display and update it in the new Event Query Block (I already checked and noticed it was displaying the same way in the new block too). Thank you for highlighting this.

    Translations

That’s awesome! I just saw it. Thank you so much for taking the time to do the translation. 🙏

    Hello Lesley!

Thank you so much for the heads up! I meant to reply here or open another thread as some days ago I tested the new Event Query Loop on the site I had installed EventKoi. I had some issues with the loop styling (mostly images) and using the loop items, which were a bit hit and miss. For the time being, I had to leave the soon-to-be legacy block.

If you want, I could do a screen recording showing you what I was trying to do and the issues I ran into. I don’t know if it’s something I haven’t figured out, and maybe it’s just me, but while super appreciated, I found the new loop block not completely fit to replace what the original EK block could do.

If you think it might be useful, I could do the screen recording and send it to you through the contact form on your site.

As for translations, no worries! I’m happy to take care of the new strings, I just need to find the time to work on them. I’ll get on it as soon as possible! 🙂

    Thanks! 🌟☁️

    Hi Piermarco!

Yes please. A screen recording would be very appreciated. Sending it via our contact form or sharing a link here would be perfect.

We will look at it right away.

    Thank you!

    Hi Piermarco,

We’ve made some fixes to the Event Query Loop block’s images. Please let me know if that’s fixed things for you or if you have other issues that we’ve missed.

    Thank you!!
