Ordering a page before the “Home” page

  • Hi,

I would like to put a page that would appear before the “Home” page. The “Home” page doesn’t appear in the pages section, so it can’t be ordered.

    Can it be done?

Pardon? If Home doesn’t appear in your page list, how can you place a page before it?

The home (main) page of the blog doesn’t appear under page management… that’s just how it is

    1) Install the my page order plugin if you havent already done so

    2) Creat a blank page called Home.

    3) Navigate to your header.php and look for the line that reads like
“>Home – remove the word “Home”
leaving “> (depending on your theme – this action may leave a small blank icon in your navigation bar.

    4) Navigate to settings>>reading – set your home page to static page and select the new Home page for both Front page and Posts Page (Note: if you want the home page to be different from the blog then creat a blank blog page and use that for Posts page setting)

Now navigate to Pages>>My page order, drag and drop the home page where you want it to appear

    Sorry about that.

Edit: the code at #3 is

    <a href="<?php bloginfo('url'); ?>">Home</a>

    to leave

    <a href="<?php bloginfo('url'); ?>"></a>

Seriously, they should have a preview button to chek the entry before publishing :$

ZGani – i see the trick you’re suggesting 🙂 will try it out soon!
    thanks!
