    Dear all,

We put the products under a product category in a certain order (backend of WooCommerce). The order of the products changes spontaneously and automatically after a while.

Hope someone can help us to prevent changes in order of the products.

    Best regards,

    M.

    Hi @mmesblits ,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that your products are being changed spontaneously after sorting, is this correct?

Please could you clarify if you are using the default WooCommerce sorting option, or if you are using a plugin for this?

I was unable to replicate this issue on my staging site, which uses the default WooCommerce Storefront theme, and updated WC Versions and WordPress, which could indicate that this specific issue may be a cause of a theme/plugin conflict triggering the rearrangement.

To determine this, I would recommend performing a full conflict test by:

    Clearing site and browser caching
    – Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    – Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    – Check to see if the sorting changes after a while

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each until you find the one causing conflict.`

You can clone your site to a staging environment and perform tests without modifying your live site or impacting customers, especially if the issue is happening at random. You may do this by using the free WP Staging plugin.

If the issue is still present after this, please share a copy of your sites System status report which can be found by navigating to WooCommerce > Status. Select ‘Get system report’ and then ‘Copy for support’.

Once you do this, you can paste your response here.

    Thanks!

    Hi Roxanne,

Here are some answers regarding your reply.

    Answer = Yes

We are not using an extern plugin for sorting products. We are using the standard WooCommerce settings for sorting.

Checking and testing with browser caching is already done.

    Hi @mmesblits ,

    Thanks for providing clarity!

Checking and testing with browser caching is already done.

Please let me know the outcome with the plugins deactivated and the Storefront theme active? Did the issue continue after doing this?

If so, please share your System status report as requested above, in order for me to get a better understanding of your site setup.

    Thanks!

    Hi @mmesblits ,

    Not a problem 🙂

This topic will remain open until you come back with an update. Should the issue not return then you can reach out to the developers of the conflicting theme/plugin that is currently causing the issue and mark this as resolved however, should the issue persists, you can respond here with your Status report and further investigation can be done.

    Best,

    Hi @mmesblits

Just to add – You can drag and drop products in an order to your liking.

You can read more on sorting products here: https://woocommerce.com/document/managing-products/#sorting-products

If the conflict test doesn’t yield the culprit, please share a copy of your site’s System Status. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.
