• We’re using the Sequential Order Numbers plugin, which worked fine, until we changed the status of some orders from Processing to Complete. When we did that, the order numbers changed to the next numbers in the sequence, which confuses our process (and potentially our customers).

For example, one order was #1781. When we changed the status from Processing to Complete, the order number changed to #1803 (which was the next available number in the sequence).

Is there a way to prevent this from happening? Do you know why it would be happening?

    Hey Larry,

Sorry to hear our plugin is giving you trouble! I’m happy to help.
Hmm, the order number should not be changing with the order status. Can you confirm if you are using the latest version of the plugin (v1.8.3)? If not can you try updating to the latest version to see if that resolves the issue here?

Also, can you confirm if the issue persists with all plugins deactivated besides WooCommerce and Sequential Order Numbers? That will help to confirm if the issue may be the result of a plugin conflict. If the issue does not persist, can you try re-enabling the other plugins one by one to try to isolate the conflicting plugin?

Has any custom code been applied to your site? If so, can you try temporarily commenting it out to see if that resolves the issue?

    All the best,
    Ryan
