order in Shortcode not working

    In version 3.9.6, in shortcode [matches league_id=ID], I included the parameter order=”date DESC but dates won’t sort descending. I want the matches results to display starting from the latest dates down to the oldest. An older version in my localhost works well with this parameter. Please help me.
