I’m trying to have my facebook page’s event feed display on my website and I’m having a couple of problems.

    1.) Broken Images

The cover images being imported from Facebook are broken. They are broken in all browsers. Examples of this can be seen at http://dragonmun.com/events/

2.) Events Are Out Of Order

I would like to have the events display in order of event date…. not the date that they were posted to facebook. Is there a way to correct this?

Thanks for contacting us! Hopefully I can help out. I was able to duplicate your feed ok on our test site here. http://feedthemsocial.com/test2/

This usually means a couple things. Your theme or another plugin is blocking the images from coming in. Try disabling all other plugins, and or switch themes for a minute to see if that might be the conflict.

The Events should show in order of the most recent event about to occur.

If after all that you are still having troubles, try deleting and re-installing our plugin and see if that helps. Let me know how it goes!

I went and did all of that and still had no luck. Decided to copy the image URL from your test page and then compare it to the image URL on my site and found that I had “http://i0.wp.com/” appended to the beginning of my images. Did a google search for that and came across this discussion: https://discussion.dreamhost.com/thread-139167.html

Turns out that it’s a plugging called “photon” within jetpack. I turned it off and it fixed both issues. 🙂

So, as it turns out, Photon is incredibly handy for keeping a website from getting heavy and crashing when there’s a spontaneous increase in traffic from elsewhere. This broke FTS again, BUT Photon provided a super simple solution, which can be found here:

I just set the snippit it to skip the page “events” and vioala! Everything works together! 🙂

    Dragonmun,

So glad to hear you found a work around. I truly was baffled how the url was getting reconstructed like it that.
