    A customer tried to make an order online. They managed to create the order but somehow not pay for it. The order status is now ‘pending payment’ but not log of the failed payment was made.

    Does anyone know how this could happen and any suggestions on how I can debug this error in the future?

    I find the logs of this plugin not very useful as all it says are failed or successful. Is it possible to add more logging to this plugin can i use hooks or actions to log better?

    What payment method was this? For example was it a credit card, local payment method etc?

    It’s not uncommon for an order to be generated but the customer opts to not proceed with payment. For example, if 3ds was required, the order is first generated then they customer is presented with the 3ds authentication screen. If they decide not to proceed, there will be a pending payment order. Based on your WC Settings, you can control the timeline in which a pending order is transitioned to cancelled.
