 * I have used jigoshop for various for 5 years and today have a problem. When an
   order is placed, the customer /purchaser receives an order confirmation 5 times!
 *  Any ideas how to rectify this?

 * Probably this is a issue with multiple email templates, try to remove the duplicates.
