  • Hi @leepettijohn,

    Reading this:

[…] the page returns an error saying that admin-ajax is not found.

I wonder if your hosting provider might be blocking access to admin-ajax.php. Have you checked with them?

Also could you please check the Wordfence Live Traffic page to see if there are any related requests being blocked?

    Hey wfyann,
If the hosting provider were blocking access, the other pages that use AJAX wouldn’t work either
The Live Traffic page doesn’t show any activity when I try to update the options page.

    Any other suggestions.

    Hi @leepettijohn,

Are you using a default theme?

If not, could you try and temporarily switch to a default theme and repeat the problematic action?

Also can you confirm that the console returns the same error mentioned in this post.

No, but still does not work with the Twenty-Seventeen theme.

Here is the Console error – http://brightsidetraining.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Snip20171110_1.png

    Hi @leepettijohn,

Could you please let me know what you get when you load the URL mentioned in the console error message (http://your_domain_name/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php) directly in a browser?

As the problem could also be related to PHP, it would be worth checking the PHP logs to see if there are any errors appearing when you try and save the modification.

Additionally, you could also enable WP_DEBUG to get more information.

    I get a “0” (zero)

This is the only log message – [Sat Nov 11 13:40:26 2017] [error] [client 199.188.205.23] \tCpanel::Quota::displayquota(HASH(0x14ba070)) called at /home/brightside/public_html/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/includes/get-cpanel-quota-usage.pl line 12, referer: http://brightsidetraining.org/wp-cron.php?doing_wp_cron=1510425619.9439330101013183593750

I set wp_debug to true and it didn’t show any errors either.

    Hi @leepettijohn,

If you get “0” (zero) when loading that URL then it means “admin-ajax.php” definitely works.

Could you make sure PHP logging is enabled?

Was this ever resolved? I’m having the same issue. I also get 0 when visiting the admin ajax url
