Support » Fixing WordPress » options-general.php fatal error question

  • On the options>general page, at the bottom , I am getting this error message:
    Default date format:
    Output:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: backslashit() in /hsphere/local/home/SERVERNAME/WEBSITE.com/blog/wp-includes/functions.php on line 31
(Capped names above to protect my ignorance!)
    Thanks!

  • The backslashit() function resides in functions-formatting.php (wp-includes/ directory). Do you have this file in your WP installation? Even if you do it could be corrupted, so you might try deleting it and uploading a fresh copy.
