# Optional Excerpt ends abrubtly

 * Hello,
    I’ve noticed that, if the optional excerpt is specified and does not 
   contain a period within the first N characters, WordPress just terminates the
   excerpt at N. So, for example, if you have a huge piece of text in your optional
   excerpt but the first sentence is brief, the excerpt appears fine. However, if
   your first sentence is long, the excerpt appears to end randomly (‘long’ is not
   very generous either- I think it terminates around 30 some chars). Does any one
   know if this bug is fixed in later versions of WordPress? …Any feedback would
   be appreciated. Thanks.
