Option to include a news item with no link?

This is a great plugin, but if I leave the link field blank (because I don’t necessarily want to link every single news item), I cannot save the news item (I get a “please enter link” validation message, so have no option to not include one).
Is it possible to allow items to be added without links in the next release please?
