    WordFence: 7.0.5 (1518630427)
    OS: Linux

When I optimized the firewall with the Apache + mod_php setting, my whole website showed an Internal Error 500. After commenting out the WF code in htaccess, the website is fully functional.

How do you suggest I optimize the firewall?

  • In order to make sure which Firewall setup you should be using:

Check the Server API field. Is it consistent with the parameter which is “Recommended based on our tests“?

    Suggestions?

    THANKS!

    Hi @justravis,

Can you see any errors in the PHP logs?

Also, can you please confirm which PHP version you’re running?

Have you tried the suggestions outlined in our documentation?
