• Hi! I installed the Imsanity plugin today and ran bulk optimize on all of my media files. I did this in response to the analysis my page received from Google’s PageSpeed. They told me I need to optimize my images, and gave me specific images to optimize (mostly the ones that are on widgets on my home page). After optimizing all of my photos I’m still getting that message from PageSpeed. Any ideas on why? Thanks!

  • Imsanity actually does not really optimize the images on the site in most cases. What it does is compress the “original” image that was uploaded.

Unless you are using the original image in your post (unlikely, most of the time you would pick the large, medium or thumb size) then Imsanity won’t have an effect on the site speed.

Imsanity is more for clearing disk space rather than optimizing images.

OK, thanks. I also have the EWWW optimizer installed…will look into that. Imsanity definitely cleared space, FYI. I couldn’t save a backup of my site until I ran your plugin, because it was too large (that was a little scary, because I wanted to back it up before running the plugin…worked out, though!). Thanks!

cool – thanks for the feedback!
