Note that the opt-in front page plugin de-facto enables you to use WordPress as a multi-blog platform:
– Set the default category’s slug to ‘blog’
– Create one category per user, or topic, whatever (your ‘blogs’)
– At your option, use the front page to opt-in all posts from all blogs, or as a separate blog with the more important stuff only

eek!
I’ve just downloaded and installed this plug-in. I love it! Only I get the following error:
WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax near '' at line 1]
SELECT COUNT(ID) FROM
WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax near '' at line 1]
SELECT COUNT(ID) FROM
Is there a workaround for this, please?
above described problem is solved.
Does this change my rss feed? Does rss output all entries, or just the front page entries?
just the page entries at the moment
i’ve plans to change the rss feed in the next version as well.
this page is generating lots of 404s. would a moderator be so kind to correct the initial url to:
http://www.semiologic.com/projects/opt-in-front/
yes, thats the problem i have too!
it probably doesnt match with 1.5.1 someone should modify that script 🙂
Is this working with 1.5.2? It doesn’t seem to do anything. Also, can I edit the file so that it call using a custom slug with another title? I tried it both ways, but neither did anything.
Thanks!!!
the plugin fallbacks to no behavior if no posts qualify
The answer to my own question is yes. I changed the cagegory name, and now that is my front page. I guess it took a minute or so for my server to update…maybe I am to spoiled! Thanks for the great plugin!
This plugin is the holy grail for me, been searching for a long time for this kind of thing! However, when I set it all up my home page simply displays;
‘Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_real_escape_string() in /home/sites/site177/web/wp-content/plugins/sem-opt-in-front.php on line 134’
can anyone help?
the yet to be announced latest version fixes this:
http://www.semiologic.com/res/sem-opt-in-front.zip
it also includes a couple of enhancements.
