    Hey @ivhero ,

It seems you have turned off the plugin, because yesterday when I looked at this I saw a broken layout but today the layout is fine, and the calendar page does not exist. That being said, when I took a look yesterday at your shop page, I did inspect the entire page using Firebug for Firefox. During that investigation, I did not see any styles from our plugin that were directly affecting the shop page.

In the past, these types of visual issues are conflicts between your theme styling and our plugin styling; however, those types of visual problems are usually only on the individual event pages, and most of them can be resolved using the OpenTickets -> Settings -> Frontend page to change the visual look of the UI. Without the plugin active, there is not really anything else I can look at that can provide more insight into the actual cause of the problem.

With that being said, I am willing to help figure out the issue, and provide either help to resolve it or a change in our software if it is applicable. At this point though, the only way that it seems like I will be able to do that is by first reactivating the plugin, and second getting me temporary access to the admin on the dev version of the site (or the site itself if you don’t have a comparable dev site that is experiencing the problem). Most problems have been resolved very quickly once we have reached this step in the troubleshooting, which you can see a history of on the forums.

If this is something you are comfortable with, then please whip up a temporary user, and send the credentials to info@opentickets.com. Once I have that, I will be able to track this down pretty quickly. If this is not something you want to pursue, then please let me know that too.

    Loushou,

    Hi!

First of all – thanks for responding! πŸ™‚

I have been fixing the layout issue with css today – that’s why the site looked ‘not broken’!

So you can see the issue again, I have disabled the css I entered today.

I have also sent you temp access details. Thanks in advance for your help – it is very much appreciated.

(ps – I have another ticket open with you, maybe you could take a look at this too please!?)

    Hey @ivhero ,

I have started looking into this. Part of what I have found is that somehow the layout of the page is getting changed. For instance, there is a div on the bad version of the page that is called <div id="container" rel="main"> (which is generated by core WooCommerce in certain situations), where as the good page uses a class called ‘contaainer’ instead <div class="container">. I added a few things to your functions.php in your child theme, that seem to solve the layout issue for the main shop page; however, I don’t think this is a permanent solution, because if you look at the ‘tours tickets’ product category, that page is still messed up. I am still investigating. I just wanted to give you and update on what I have found. After I track this down, I will start looking into the other issue you reported.

    Hey @ivhero ,

After adding some debug code, and uploading a new experimental version of OpenTickets Community Edition to your site, I was able to track down this problem. As it turns out, your theme uses a non-standard method of overtaking the WooCommerce templates. It actually uses the ‘old method’ (pre WC2.1) to override the templates. Your theme uses the /woocommerce/ directory inside your theme folder to accomplish this. The proper, modern way of doing this is to just put the overriding templates directly into the theme directory. Basically what that means is that your theme currently puts the file here:

    themes/bucket/woocommerce/archive-product.php

when in fact it should put the file here:

    themes/bucket/archive-product.php

The problem that is causing is pretty complicated, however I will attempt a short explanation. Basically, our plugin augments the WooCommerce template lookup functions, which your theme makes use of in a round about way. When our plugin is testing to find the correct template, it is checking all the core WooCommerce default locations, all our plugin’s additional locations, and coming up with a final file path to the proper template. It is not however looking in your themes /woocommerce/ sub folder, since that is non-standard.

I updated your site with a version that does include a workaround for this, which will be included in our next release. That being said, I don’t think we will be adding any more work arounds for this, because /woocommerce/ and /templates/ (the two i added) would be the only additional subfolders that would be a valid place to look, if the theme follows the proper methods (even very outdated ones) of overtaking the woocommerce core files.

I will now take a look at the other issue, which is probably a different thing all together. I will update you on that one, on the other thread you have.

    Hey @ivhero ,

Wanted to let you know that this is now included in the latest version, 1.10.6. In this version, we check the theme for override files in the /woocommerce/ subdir as well as the /templates/ subdir (since both were once used by woocommerce, though they are both no longer used). This should resolve the problem for you and anyone else experiencing similar problems moving forward.

@loushou – first of all, thank you sooo much for helping. I really appreciate your expertise and help. Debugging this myself would have taken weeks!

My only outstanding issue is this :

On the page http://weefood.design33.net/book-your-tour/ the booking calendar is still showing the broken formatting. Everything else is now working great, it’s just this issue I still require help with.

Finally, is there any way I can buy you a coffee / beer in return for all of your help? If so, please send me a link – I’d love to say thank you! Also, quite happy to provide a written testimonial for you to use on your site.

    Thanks again in advance.

    Hey @ivhero ,

I am glad I was able to help you get up an running. For the last piece of the puzzle, the calendar page, this is an easy fix. Unfortunately it is not one I can make for you, because I do not have the ability to create files in your theme dir. Basically, you need to copy the calendar template from our plugin, put it in your child theme directory, and make a small modification so that it is formatted for your theme, since your theme has it’s own way of containing the contents of the page.

    Copy this file:

    wp-content/plugins/opentickets-community-edition/templates/qsot-calendar.php

    to this location:

    wp-content/themes/weefoodtour/qsot-calendar.php

Then, to make your theme adjust the container for the calendar to fit inside it’s frame, you need to edit line 8 to add the ‘container’ class, like this:

    <div id="main-content" class="main-content container">

Once you have done this, the plugin will do the rest. It will find your customized version of the template, and use that instead, thereby making the calendar fit inside the page.

As for the beer or coffee, thanks for the offer, but we don’t really have anything setup for that right now. That being said, a testimonial is always welcomed. That could be sent to info@opentickets.com if you are so inclined. What would also be much appreciated is a rating on WP.org, if you have not already done that. Glad we could get you up and running, and hopefully this helps others as well!

    Loushou,

    Hello again!

I’m now struggling to make the dates that OpenTickets outputs into a UK format.

Is this something you can help with please?

    Thanks in advance.
