Can anybody help me out with this. It seems all meta content is been duplicated numerous times in my header. I’ve tried deactivating various plugins to see if it’s a conflict but no luck. View the source on http://www.lukeharrison.net/about and see for yourself. Thanaks.
I’ve done a little digging and it seems it may be related to templates. In one template where I call get_header() just on its own it works fine with no duplicates, but in another where I call get get_header(“content”) and in the header-content.php file I call get_header() on its own I get the duplicate Yoast SEO meta tags. Is this normal behaviour?
get_header() shouldn’t be called more than once for each template build up. However, as there are more themes doing funky stuff (not calling get_header() for instance), we’ve changed the WPSEO code to work-around this. The fix will be included in the next version (v1.5.3).
If you are comfortable editing PHP files, you could apply the fix already – see this commit for the one line you would need to change.
Thanks for the response. I fixed it myself by just tweaking my theme so get_header() isn’t called more than once which in turn fixed my problem. However glad to know there will be a fix for it in the future.
