open_basedir restriction in effect

  • Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(C:\Windows\Temp\blahblah.tmp)

    Working with a shared host with Plesk control panel. (first time using plesk and it’s been nothing but trouble) Can’t upload images, plugins or import anything. What is going on here?

    open_basedir restriction means your host is very restrictive with php permisisons for exe files. If you have a php.ini, you may be able to override their settings for your account. If not, find a new host. And switch to Linux hosting; much more secure and easier to work with.

    Nope. No php.ini file. Not my host. Believe me, I would much rather be on a linux server.

    Thanks for the response tho.
