Support » Plugin: Responsive Mobile Select Menu » Only works when “Activate All Theme Locations” is enabled.

  • We are using the following code to display a menu in a specific page template:

    wp_nav_menu(array( 'menu' => '73', ));

    And in Appearance > Responsive Menu, we have this specific menu enabled under “Selectively Activate Theme Locations”

    The responsive menu does not show on mobile as it should.

    However, when I enable “Activate All Theme Locations”, it works.

    Though we’re not able to use this setting as it turns our primary menu into a responsive menu and we do not want this.

    Is there a bug?

    Thanks for your report!

    I will look into this!
    Which WordPress version are you on?

    I was unable to reproduce mentioned issue on my test installation.

    But re-read your report and am thinking, that you misunderstood how this plugin works.

    It is not working for menu IDs, but for theme_locations.

    So your wp_nav_menu() function should have a theme location assigned. You may add a new one or one of those that are already present in your theme. And then you can select the corresponding theme location, you want my responsive menu to display for, from the options menu of my plugin.

    wp_nav_menu( array(
        'theme_location' => 'my_custom_location',
    ) );

    After assigning one of your menus from wp admin > design > menus to this specific location and enabling responsive menu for this location, it will work properly and as intended.

    Does this solve your question?

    Thank you! 🙂 Any plans for allowing menu IDs in the future?
