 * Hey.
 * Well, this time, I am wondering how to get something like this. [http://millafan.com/](http://millafan.com/)
   It doesnt look like wordpress at all, but it’s used for the updates. I like how
   the site only use wordpress for the updates, without everything else. Is this
   a theme issue or something else?
 * Also, I am not sure if I should upload wordpress to a subdir or to my root dir?

 * I don’t see anything unusual at that site. It’s a WordPress blog with a custom
   designed theme. “Updates” is just recent blog posts. They merely lack any category
   or dated archive listings, though they’re still there (follow the link on any
   of the posts, or the Next Page link at bottom).
 * Where you install WordPress is up to you. It pretty much depends on what the
   focus of your site is.
 * [Mod note: Moved to Themes and Templates forum.]

 * All the other pages seem to be regular html pages, and have nothing to do with
   wordpress. Am I right?
 * I want my wordpress updates to be the first thing visitors see when entering
   the site. So I assume I should upload wordpress to my root?

 * “_All the other pages seem to be regular html pages, and have nothing to do with
   wordpress. Am I right?_“
 * Yes. They’ve manually linked to those documents, which exist outside WordPress’
   template structure.
 * “_So I assume I should upload wordpress to my root?_“
 * All depends. If your focus is your blog’s content (no matter how you are presenting
   it), then placing WordPress in the root is typically the best option.

 * Okay I see.
 * Just one more question. The site i linked you to. That site has all the wordpress
   uploaded to a subdirectory, and not to the root. Yet, the wordpress updates are
   the first thing I see when I enter the site (index page) even though the wordpres
   isn’t uploaded tot he root! This confuses me lot. How can I achieve something
   similar?
