    Hi-
I have a blog on wordpress.com. I set up a subdomain page for the blog on my website, and used the export and import tools of WP to try to transfer the blog.

My original blog (gyrfalcon88.wordpress.com) has 51 published posts and 1 draft post, and 1329 media items. After transfer, I only have 42 blog posts and 595 media items. The posts and media that are missing are in the middle chronologically. When I hover over the missing images, they say gyrfalcon88.files.xxxxx.

The files I tried to import:

When I ran the export function, I got a zipped file, which I unzipped to get two xml files,
    mvgyrfalcon-an88footwoodenfantail.wordpress.2018-04-04.001 (2705 KB)
    mvgyrfalcon-an88footwoodenfantail.wordpress.2018-04-04.002 (1131 KB)
I started with the first file, and tried to import. I got error codes, but read somewhere that you should just keep redoing the import, and eventually you would get all the data to upload. That seemed to work with the first file (I guess, since I got most of the data uploaded). With the second file, I got an error when I tried to upload:
405 not allowed error, and a message saying the second file is empty. Please load something more substantial. This error could also be caused by uploads being disabled…

I’m not sure of the right way to proceed. Here are my thoughts.
    1. Delete all imported stuff on blog.gyrfalcon88.com, and re-export and import.
    2. Delete WP on blog.gyrfalcon88.com and start over with the import.
    3. Make smaller export files, e.g., just exporting one type of data each time, and then import those files.
    Other ideas?
