Only pulling a limited number of random posts

I have a “feed”, http://dailymom.com/category/travel/destinations/ , which has 13 posts so far in this particular breakdown of category>tag. The widget only ever displays the same 3 or 4.
I’ve tried in Filter selecting the category and then tag, still a problem. I’ve also tried removing any selection for category and then just the tag, still a problem. Also tried selecting all the categories and then just that particular tag, still didn’t work.
I’ve also tried this with checking/unchecking the Show posts only from current category (though this leads to another problem–on the front page having this checked is fine; when I view a post it shows No posts could be found). Also tried checking/unchecking the Show posts only from current tag.
I have order set to Random.
