only one user ?

  • I did a search and didn’t see how to do this… some i the search came up but not exactly what I’m looking for. One said to check a post and gave a link, but its gone.

    I am going to use wp to create my website, but I want only myself, as admin and maybe one user, to post. No comments from viewers.

    How do I configure wp to do this ?
    ( Please, no screaming in agnony…)

    Thanks

    From index.php, remove all the following:

    <?php //comments_popup_script(); // off by default ?>

    <div class="feedback">
    <?php wp_link_pages(); ?>
    <?php comments_popup_link(__('Comments (0)'), __('Comments (1)'), __('Comments (%)')); ?>
    </div>

    <!--
    <?php trackback_rdf(); ?>
    -->

    <?php include(ABSPATH . 'wp-comments.php'); ?>

    This will NOT stop spam
    To do that, go here and have a read:

    No screaming 🙂

    You can ofcourse disable comments through the admin panel, for all posts. Disable pingbacks and trackbacks too, if you like.

    Thanks !

    Just waiting for dns to catch up at this point.

    And I have already renamed the trackback php file. I’ll read the page at tamba2.

    On other sites I had to moderate all entries in my guestbook. Put it on my link page that I must approve all guestbook entries before they show up and it will take 2-3 days. Spam there dropped to nothing.
