Support » Fixing WordPress » Only one post is displayed

  • Hi –

    I recently started a blog and am having an issue where only the most recent post is getting displayed. Also, whenever I go to the category where I have multiple posts, only the most recent post is displayed. I am using the “In Business” theme.

    I have changed the Options -> Reading -> Show at most … to a bunch of different values, but it doesn’t make any difference and the most recent post is still the only post that is displayed.

    I tried the “Custom Posts Per Page” plugin, found at, and it didn’t make any difference.

    I have modified my index.php file, but I do not believe that I made any changes to The Loop, so I don’t think that is the issue.

    My blog can be found at:

    Any ideas for how to resolve this issue would be appreciated!

    Thank you.
    – Justin

  • If you change Themes, say to the Default Theme, does the problem ‘go away’?

    Hi Michael –

    Thanks for the quick response. Yes, if I change back to the Default Theme, the problem does go away.

    That tells me there is something within the “In Business” that is causing the problem. I double checked the code for The Loop, and it looks the same to me.

    Any ideas or suggestions on what to check next?

    Paste your Loop here:
    and post back with the URI – maybe somebody can take a look at it.

    Thanks Moshu. Here is the link to my index.php code, which includes The Loop:

    1. I’d never use a theme where the author leaves this kind of things in the theme:
    <div style="visibility: hidden;"><a href="">Bsuiness Broker</a>

    2. That invisible div is NEVER closed… so everything after that is invisible 🙂

    3. Delete the line above from the code!

    A-ha! Removing that bit of code fixed it! Thanks so much Moshu for your help.

    I am a bit disturbed by the fact that the creator of this theme would try to put a hidden link within the index.php page. I am guessing he was trying to artificially inflate the number of links to his site, and thus improve his search engine rankings. Not cool…not cool at all.

    I agree, about the theme.
    I can’t agree about the “being fixed” 🙂 Your sidebar in FF is displaced.

    Ahhh, yes, that is a good point. Should be fixed now. Thanks for pointing that out.

    Now, I have to take the time to go through each file within the theme to make sure there aren’t any other “hidden links” or other such backdoors.

    I seem to have a similar problem, but can’t find any visibility tag problem, wondering if anyone out there might be kind enough to help – I’m very new to wordpress and have managed to customise the brajeshwar-v7-wp theme, but it’s been fraught with difficulty.

    my site is at and you can see the problem there seems to be with the loop. It seems to be doing the loop, and showing the div which is after each post, but not actually displaying any of the post itself.

    the loop from the index.php as i have it at the moment is as follows…

    <div id="col-main">
    <?php if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
    <h3 class="sec-title"><?php the_title(); ?></h3>
    <div class="post" id="post-<?php the_ID(); ?>">
    <div class="post-body">
    <?php the_content(); ?>
    <?php endwhile; endif; ?>

    As with jwhitakr, if i change to another theme it loops the posts ok.

    Please help! Thanks
