Only new posts for one language return 404

    There’s a strange problem since a week or so on our website. We have three languages set by different domains (example.eu, example.nl, example.es). Everything has worked fine for the last years. But recently we cannot post new posts and custom posts for -one- language (.es). After publishing, visiting the URL returns a 404.

    But for all existing (custom) posts it work fine. So visiting
    example.es/projects/some-project works.
    But visiting
    example.es/projects/some-new-project
    returns 404

    I tried installing previous versions of the Polylang plugin, but that didn’t change anything.

    Turning on wordpress debug doesn’t give any errors.

    What could I do to figure out what is causing the problem?
