    WordPress 4.0
    IIS7 on windows 2008 server.
Setting up an internal company webserver.

I am having an issue with wordpress where when I manually go to the url the webpage file share (http://servername/wordpress) it works fine. When I navigate to the url on the intranet web server( http://website/) all I get is text based menu and no pics. I have set it as the default page and checked itusing localhost and get the same issue on the webserver. I have given the IIS_USRS and the IUSR full control from the inpub folder and propagated it down to the child objects. I have also made sure the staticfile was enabled in the handler Mappings. Cant figure out why this is happening. Anyone have any insight to this issue? Many thanks in advance.

  • WordPress is built to work with a single URL only. Pretty much every link for CSS files, images, etc, are hard-coded, or built using the defined main URL.

Because of that if a network can’t access the correct resources, than it won’t show them, and that’s what’s happening to you.

The way to get around this is, unfortunately, to use one single URL only. Not a external and internal one.
