only get notifications from my forums

Hi
I have 20 forums on my server and i want my users to get notifications when a new thread or reply is created in their forum(s) only.
What apparently happened is that usermembers of forum A got notifications when a new thread was created in forum B.
I’m afraid ALL users in wordpress got notifications from bbpress
How can i stop that from happening?

i might add that subscription to forums is handled by Buddypress group functionality.

Hi Henrik,

You have 2 options:

1. Turn off per-role notification and leave Overrides on so that people only get notified according to their subscriptions; or

2. Install the premium add-on bbpNNS/BuddyPress Bridge.

I think that addon is somewhat unclear.

1 “notify all members of the authors group”
(if the author is member of two groups(with one forum each) will both groups be notified if author posts a thread in one of those groups(forums)?)

2 “notify all members of all groups that have access to that forum”
What does access means? if your not a member but youre one click away from being member(open groups) do you have access then? if not what is the actual difference from first alternative?

In BuddyPress, you can specify which groups have access to a given forum. Considering that an author is a member of group a and group b, but only group a has access to forum X and the author creates a post in group a…

1) “Notify all members of the author’s group”
All members of all groups that the author belongs to will be notified, as long as they have access to that forum (so in our example, group a only)

2) “Notify all members of all groups that have access to that forum”
All members that have access to that forum will be notified, even if they’re in a group to which the author does NOT belong.

I’ll try to improve the explanation on the plugin page.
