• When an admin is going to wp-login.php he is redirected to the wp-admin dashboard after a successful login, but when an Editor (user with Editor permission, created through WordPress add new users interface) is trying to login he is redirected back to the site and can not access the wp-admin dashboard.

Not sure if this is intentional or just an issue in my setup. I can’t find any reference to the wp-admin user roles in the plugin dashboard – am I missing anything?

It’s just your setup (or more correctly – it’s likely another plugin or code snippet you’ve applied).

The core plugin doesn’t restrict the dashboard since there are plugins and tools that utilize the dashboard, depending on the user and their capabilities. (Note: there is a premium extension Advanced Options that does include the ability to restrict dashboard access among other things, but that’s not part of the core plugin on wordpress.org.)

I’d suggest looking at what you have installed to see if you’ve got another plugin that restricts dashboard access in some way.
