Probably nothing, but check your Statistics->Settings->Users Online->Check for online users every setting, if it’s 0 then you should increase it (the default is 30).
Basically the online users tracking records users when they first hit the site and keeps them “online” for whatever you have the above set to.
Since the web doesn’t really have an “online” state, this approximates it but means that unless a user is actively browsing pages on your site they will drop “offline” pretty quickly.
