Support » Plugin: External Media » OneDrive logs in to current account, slider problems

  • I solved the connection issues and External Media is (almost) just what I’m looking for. However there are a couple of showstopper issues. First, after creating a client ID for OneDrive, the connection works fine… but the plugin connects to whatever OneDrive/MSA account is active in the browser, not the account the client ID was set up for. IE: I log in to Azure Portal with abc@outlook.com and create an app ID. I set up WordPress with the ID. If I log in with abc@outlook.com, everything is fine. But if I log in with def@outlook.com, or if def@outlook.com is logged in to the browser instance, then “Import from OneDrive” shows the OneDrive of the current user, not abc@outlook.com. This behavior is unwanted and does not occur in another OneDrive connection plugin I’m trying out (WP Media Folder).
A lesser issue is that I’m using a slider plugin, Slide Anything. I’m unable to add media to the slider, nothing happens when I click on Add Media (it uses the /wp-admin/post-new.php with a query (post-new.php?post_type=sa_slider), but Azure Portal Redirect URIs does not accept query strings.
Is there anything you can do to help? As I said on Twitter, happy to donate 🙂

@kip-kniskern unfortunately the plugin does not support what you’re asking for. The idea is that users login with their own accounts to upload files from their own files. Also the plugin is using native libraries, for instance Dropbox is has its own file picker JS library the same with OneDrive. Due to lack of free time I am not able to look into the feature requests at the moment. But I would consider that in the future.

    Thank you!
