One WP-installation, multiple categories, multiple domains

  • Hi there

I have a WP-blog where i posted a lot of private stuff. Now i started blogging about stuff related to my work. Therefore i created some new categories.

Is it possible to have two domains pointing on the same blog but on different categroies?

    For example:

http://www.mydomain1.com ist pointing to categories Job, research,

http://www.mypersonalblog.net is pointing to categories personal, digitallife …

  • One answer is to host the second domain on a different hosting account and create a redirect that points to the url of the category you want to show.

Many account will let you have a second domain hosted with no more charge than just the cost of registering the name (mine allows three I think) so you should not need a second account.

You could have separate pages with the Posts sorted by Category (Personal Page, Professional Page)

A redirect give you the ability so send a visitor to a specific URL or Page. I have a redirect on my site that sends a separate home URL to a completely different site where they get information on Boating safety classes.

    Hope this helps a bit
