• Hi,

As i am flooded by spam I would like to install a one-word type of capcha. By this I mean, a security system similar to the Yahoo search blog or jeremy zawodny’s blog. The visitor only enter one word, the same one all the time. Is this efficient? if so, where can I get that tool?
    thanks a lot

  • The technique you describe is easily beaten by spambots. You might want to try these below – they are very effective indeed.

    Bad behavior

    Spam Karma 2

and to clear what’s there already, Spam Nuker

Podz is right…I have most that he listed there and they work just fine, where as the Capcha plugin, didn’t seem to work too well with the latest WordPress version…or maybe I’m just too lazy and didn’t find the right working plugin with wordpress lol! But I could have sworn there was one that did work with the latest version of WP….
    Mmmm….

    spencerp

P.S. I did download that plugin though…just didn’t seem to work with the newest version because my host didn’t enable something specific that needs it…

    You have this one:
    Secure Image: Author URI: http://uberdork.supertwist.net
    And this one:
    WP AuthImage Plugin (v3.0)
    written by Keith McDuffee (2004-6-7)

The one you’re specifically seeking… I had noticed on some sites, but can’t put my finger on it as of yet…but some that is listed here didn’t work because my host didn’t enable certain things…which reminds me I need to send them emails about it….damn I’m drinking and listening to Rob Zombie’s Sinister’s Urge CD lol!!

thanks for your replies i appreciate; Jeremy told me he wrote his himself; Well I guess i’ll have a look at your link tonite.

I’m using Boriel’s Capcha! plugin, which seems to be working well so far. It doesn’t use the same word every time, instead it generates a unique 6-letter combination. You get to decide which font(s) it uses to generate the image.

You can see it at work on my site.
