Hi.. I recently migrated my 5-year-old blog and have one issue I can’t fix: The post from Jan. 22, 2019 is fine but the problem is on the homepage.

Anyone looking will see my posts in two columns, starting with the most recent – and they each show a picture, title and summary (or rather, first few sentences).

But the post from Jan. 22, 2019 has the summary:
    1. as a link, and
    2. unchanged after I fixed the punctuation error.

I even got rid of the first two blocks, republished and then replaced them – and that still didn’t fix that part of the homepage.

Would any of you have any ideas?

(I know I still have to change lots of classic to blocks, replace images and galleries, and correct punctuation, and am slowly doing so.)

    Thank you!
    Lenny

that one post has a ‘more tag’ link embedded which throws off the formatting because it creates an extra link within in the already linked short output on the front page; (btw: all short texts on the front page are actiually linked.)

check if that one post has a written excerpt which contains the link html (below the editor window somewhere, you might need to activate that with the ‘screen options’ …

Wow! THANK YOU! I looked and thought, came up with https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-properly-use-the-more-tag-in-wordpress/, and then realized the post’s Excerpt box wasn’t empty like all the others.

I deleted what was there, and now all is great (except for the migration repairs, which I can do slowly).

And great point about all homepage summaries being links. I should’ve specified this one actually showed!

    Thanks again!
