    Hi,

I’ve stumbled upon a very weird issue with one of my pages, that can be found here: http://www.ablelounge.com/events/

The page has content in the page editor, and is published. However, when you go to the URL (that is correct, I’ve double checked) the page simply doesn’t exist. There is no content in the source code, and the usual “Edit page” button you see in the WP-admin toolbar is gone, the page is blank.

Any other pages I create with exactly same settings work fine, so it seems it’s that particular URL that the issue lies with.

I’ve had a previous version of this page deleted permanently, with same URL. Maybe some settings are left and interfere with the new version?

No recent updates were made, it just.. happened.

[Moderator Note: No bumping. If it’s so urgent that you cannot possibly wait more than 1 hour for a response, consider hiring someone instead.]

  • Switch to Twenty Thirteen theme with all plugins turned off and see if that page shows up.

Hi, thank you for your suggestion. I’ve switched to 2013, and turned off all the plugins.. Something went really wrong. My homepage turned completely white with nothing but pages title as a link. No content, no theme, nothing.

I’ve switched to 2013, and turned off all the plugins..

Can we see your site with 2013 theme with all plugins turned off?

    Hi Krishna,

All I can see is a completely blank white page, with its title in the left upper corner (home). Also “edit”, both as plain html links.

No wp-admin bar, no content, no 2013 theme, nothing else.

This is all I see in incognito mode: http://i.imgur.com/aOEr1I7.png

From the looks of it your site is running an events plugin (ajde_events) which has a post type archive URL of /events. You also have a page with the same slug of /events.

They are in conflict with each other. The plugin may contain settings to change the archive page URL, or simply change the slug on the page to events-2 and see how you get on.

Hi Scott, thank you for your help. I’ve tried de-activating the MyEventOn plugin, that is responsible for the ajde_events you mentioned, and a weird thing happened..

My /events page now shows the content of homepage, despite having clearly different content, I’ve doublechecked. When you click “edit page” at top, you are also taken to the editor of homepage.. I fail to wrap my head around this behavior.

Changing page url works, it seems to be the only bugged URL, plugin or not. But it would be a shame to have weird url like /events2.. But I guess I shoul drop the /events url all together and save myself the headache? :S

    Maybe /our-events or the like.

It should be an easy fix actually. Once you have de-activated the event plugin you need to flush your permalinks. To do this simply visit ‘settings -> permalinks’ in your WordPress admin and that should clear the issue.

You will now be able to assign your page to /events as you require.

Thanks a lot for help, Scott! Flushing helped, and I could turn the plugin back on without issues, I wasn’t aware you could do that.

    No problem.

It may be worth feeding this problem back to the plugin author of MyEventOn. They may need to force a permalink flush during plugin activation.

    Good luck with your site.
