Hi,
Sorry to hear you faced this trouble. Spam orders could be very annoying and it’s better to block the spammer as soon as possible. The good news is that’s easy to do. You will likely need to block them on your hosting.
We’ll help you with this.
Can you let me know your Ecwid store ID and ID of one of the spam orders? We will look into our log files and find the IP address. Then you will be able to block that IP on your hosting side.
Thanks,
Thanks. I am looking into it.
Will get back to you shortly.
I found that those orders came from the Zapier integration you have in your store. They seem to be some kind of test.
Do you or someone from your staff work with the Zapier app? Which service did you integrate with your store via Zapier? Be it a test or a actual tool you’re using, it seems like that service is sending those test orders.
If you don’t know what is Zapier or haven’t connected it to your store, please let me know, I will explain it in more details and help you to investigate it.
ive never used Zapier. I am newly brought onto this project so i know none of its history. i dont see any plugins from Zapier installed so are you saying Zapier is integrated in distro- Ecwid itself? or should i be looking for scripts embedded in the theme file structure somewhere?
The Zapier app is installed in the store #4208202 . You can see it in the store control panel – navigate to the Apps -> My Apps menu.
Zapier works as a connector between services and I cannot tell from outside what service or a script is on the other end. However, if you have an access to the connected Zapier account, you can see which services, or “zaps” in Zapier terms, are enabled. That could be a test zap.
Probably, the developer who worked on it before you, integrated the store with Zapier. Anyway, if you don’t need the integration, you can uninstall the app from the My Apps menu. Once uninstalled, it won’t have access to your store and won’t be able to create orders or anything else in your store.
Hi,
Did you manage to find out the root cause? Is there anything I can help you with?
thanks for following up. the orders stopped spontaneously so the client took us off researching the cause. thanks for your assistance thus far.
