  • Ok, I’ve tried w/ B2 as well, it seems my login is not going to work.
So, I just wanted to ask you guys what you are doing when developing your WordPress sites?
Are you uploading to the server for every change? Or are you developing locally?
If you are developing locally, how did you install Apache, PHP and MySQL…by hand or an installer package. I’m going to try and do this another way (without foxserv.net). Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Matt

  • hi!
    have a look at xampp.

(They’ve an english page. just click the flag.)

I’ve used both xampp and EasyPHP. I like EasyPHP better, but the downside for it is that the upgrade cycle for EasyPHP seems to lag a little (last release in October) compared to xampp.
I’ve got both of them on my development machine, but EasyPHP is just a hair more user-friendly, so I tend to use it more.

For a local PHP server try http://www.badblue.com

I went with EasyPHP. It meets the spec and installed cleanly. If server side operations are not your normal habitat (they are not mine) and you need a good environment for a local WP install I could not recommend it too highly.
