• I plan to use one database and four instances of WordPress on one website.
Each instance of WordPress will have it’s own single database prefix; wp_ wp1_ wp2_ wp3_ on the database.
    Does this impact the server?
Would it be better to have multiple independent databases?
(they’d probably all be on the same server).

Have you thought about setting your site up as a WordPress Multisite? that way you’re only using one instance of WP, there are separate tables for each site.

It’s a different theme for each instance of WordPress.
First is a news / magazine theme.
    Second is a classifieds theme.
    Third a jobs theme.
I’m afraid Multisite does not lend itself to that setup?

Thanks for the suggestion. Still wondering about how this affects server use. . .
