  • I’d like to have a button at the top of each site on a network setup but have yet to figure out how this can be done.

I was given some interesting help in terms of putting code into footers but I need a button/URL at the top of every new blog being created on a network setup so that users can click on it to get back to a main site.

  • .. you still use the code that puts it into the footer, but you add inline-css that makes the div absolute and positions it at the top of the site.

Haha, I didn’t want to bug you by asking the same thing but for the top :).

    Thanks very much again.

Maybe I need to understand something about network sites at this point.
A network site or ‘directory’ based one in this case, is it a stand alone site or it is a sub-site of the first site in the list?

What I’ve been wanting is something that will always be at the top, no matter which site people visit and without doing anything to the themes.

I’ve seen things called ‘admin toolbars’ and other things which seem to explain this as an admin bar or a sticky main menu across all sub sites and is why I keep thinking there is something that would display say a set of menus in a small line above all sites.

That’s really what I’m looking for.

.. that’s what I made for you originally in that other thread, you just use style=”position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0;” (etc.. inline-CSS) to position it to show at the top of the page

Ok, I’m heading back to the other thread then. I’ve got the code running but it’s not changing anything yet.

I found the perfect tool, a plugin called wpmubar. However, no reply to my email after purchase so not sure they are actively updating it. It is the holidays mind you so we’ll see what happens.

I’ll still have my design partner look at this thread and see if this might be easier. I’d like something we can maintain and not have to count on an author who won’t be updating.
