One blog, multiple authors

  • What is the best way to allow multiple authors on a blog. I would like authors to be able to sign up themselves without having to add them myself. Is that possible, or do I have to sign them up myself as an ‘author’ on the blog? Is that the best way to handle multiple author blogs?

  • I’d say you remain admin. Under settings make it so that anybody can register, but don’t make the default role author, just contributor or something. The people that you want to allow to write, you can always promote to author later.

if he is looking at how i look to work a CMS/Blog, you allow everyone to be an author UNLESS they abuse the privilege. Easier to ban then to penalise legit authors

    How is WP-MU different?

Sure, but if you allow anyone to register (the only option) and anyone becomes author with the appointed rights, in my opinion that’s way too much rights to throw out in the open. If the “OP” wants everyone to have his/her own blog, MU is a better option, but that’s not how I read the question.

an author can only publish and edit his/her own blogs right?
