    Hi AI1M,

I have purchased a license so I can migrate/backup my 6GB website. It works well for my setup as I will migrate to a test site and make all my changes there to see how it will look without breaking the live site. Then if all looks and at well, I will make the changes on the live site; this has been working very well for me.

Currently, I have not had to use your support system and I have only been a client for about there months as of this date (5-25-2018).

I have TWO questions for you that I trust you will be able to answer here publicly for all your current and future clients.

    1. Is there a yearly support charge?
    2. Do you plan to create an automatic backup option that will automatically backup the database, themes, plugins, uploads & other stuff (when/only) if there is a change to the area?

Option two (2.) would really be helpful as it would save space on the client’s server whether it is in the cloud or on an external drive on their personal network.

Currently, I am saving my entire website on a weekly basis which is a 6GB website.

    Thank you and best regards!
    🙂

    1. Is there a yearly support charge?
    – No, we only charge 1 time fee, not a subscription. There is a lot of good feedback about our support. We will only consider charging for support if our response time increases to more than 10 hours. It is 48 minutes on average right now during business hours.

    2. Do you plan to create an automatic backup option that will automatically backup the database, themes, plugins, uploads & other stuff (when/only) if there is a change to the area?
    – Yes, it will be the best thing after sliced bread. The only thing we are not certain about is if we have to release it in another plugin and split migration and backups into two plugins. Your opinion can help us decide – chip in anytime.

This reply is a followup from this review: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/wasted-my-time-9/

My goal with what I am going to write next is to share my experience so whoever reads can decide how to implement backups for their business.

Ideally, you want to have 4 copies of your data.
    1. Live website (chance to lose data HIGH)
    2. Offline storage (chance to lose data MEDIUM)
    3. Cloud storage with multi-region replication (chance to lose data LOW)
    4. Another cloud storage with multi-region replication (chance to lose data LOW)

When the live server gets compromised, hard disk gets broken, the copy of your data is also compromised/broken too. I have marked this storage as high risk because it is prone to many vectors of issues – web server vulnerability, hardware malfunction, etc

Offline storage is a Medium risk but if we are talking about just a hard drive attached to the network, then it is likely not RAID 5, and it is prone to bit-rot and hardware malfunction – if your hard drive dies, so does your data.

Cloud storages – your data is safe because most cloud storages utilize RAID-5 storages which will keep your data safe from bit-rot and hardware malfunction. In the event of a fire, when the entire data center is gone, multi-region replication will step in and save your data.
Then why would Yani recommend 2 cloud storages? Well, they are businesses and as such companies can get out of business. There are terms and conditions, and if one breaks their terms, they could be refused service.
