After upgrading the free version from version 4.6.0 to 5.0.4, I discovered that the Pro version is probably capable to intercept Google Fonts dynamically loaded by Tawk.to.
In a similar thread, see https://wordpress.org/support/topic/not-detecting-google-font/ but closed for new replies, the plugin author states that it’s impossible to catch these, but as that thread dates from the pre 5-version, I wonder if that’s still the case.
I had a chat conversation with Tawk.to at the end of January this year, but it’s not yet possible to tamper with / set the fonts Tawk.to uses. It’s in their plans, but (at that time?) no time frame is set yet.

    Hi!

I discovered that the Pro version is probably capable to intercept Google Fonts dynamically loaded by Tawk.to.

I’m very curious what made you come to this conclusion?

While I am working on a JS library that intercepts functions like appendChild() (which is also used by tawk.to) or insertBefore() (used by Google Maps) to make sure Google Fonts aren’t loaded, this is still very much in the works, and I can’t give an ETA as of yet.

But, anything that might help me on my mission is very welcome ofcourse 🙂

An update on this, the Remove Async Google Fonts feature is now included in OMGF Pro. However, since Tawk.to loads in an iframe, it’s out of reach for OMGF Pro (or anything) to modify.

If you want to know more, I wrote this FAQ.
