    Hi Olsen Light community. Nice theme! I would like to remove, or edit, the social icons from the bottom of all pages of Olsen Light theme. The icons appear above the footer block, adjacent to the ‘continue reading’ button. I cannot locate, for as yet unknown reasons, a menu, block, or widget customisation function. I have tried CSS code, even CSS plugin, however no code takes effect.

    I thought I would ask the forum before creating a child file. Perhaps there is something I need to activate in the OL theme settings in order for CSS to work. I have read that other themes need some sort of enabling before CSS changes can be seen. Perhaps it is the same for OL. I’ve spent many hours tinkering, to no avail. If there is anyone that could shed some light on this issue I would be incredibly grateful. Thank you.

    1-I see you have started a topic in the theme specific support forum.
    That’s the best place to ask if you are not having success adjusting the display

    2-you could try adding something like the following CSS to hide the social media icon list
    .entry-utils .socials {display: none;}

    Thank you for your reply Lisa. I have previously attempted to apply similar CSS codes, however whatever CSS I add does not show when published. I’m not sure why. Could there be a button that has to be enabled inside the theme in order for CSS to take affect?

    Really appreciate it, thank you.

    Hi @elams1894,
    Are you saving a draft version of Customizer? Does it have this button https://prnt.sc/thtt5f when Publishing your Custom CSS?

    Also do you have any caching plugins enabled?

    BTW. @contentiskey code will work great! Thank you Lisa

    Hi Lisa

    I’m not saving a draft version of customizer. It has the publish button the same as seen in your link.

    I have cleared all caches and don’t have any theme plugins such as elementor. I binned all of that. Still can’t get any code to take affect unfortunately. I’ll try the code that you linked to. Cheers

    Thanks Fotis for the suggestions. Sorry I mixed up the names, was replying to your message with a three year old in my face.

    I ended up re activating the WP Super Cache and deleted the cache again. I applied the code suggested by @contentiskey and it has finally worked. I’m very pleased. Thanks to both of you for you help. you have saved my sanity. Cheers!

    Hi Guys

    Just one more thing. The social icons also appear underneath in the pages ‘Contact’ and ‘Product’. They appear underneath the description box. I tried using the inspect locater to find their corresponding code, however my attempts to emulate the formatting of the code you supplied failed miserably.

    If you could supply a line of code that could delete the social icons from these additional pages, that would be much appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hi @elams1894
    Glad to hear you have resolved this! No worries, about your answer, I have a two year old doing stuff 😀 all day.

    Now, try this

    .page-id-2498 .entry-utils{display:none;}
    .single-product .entry-utils{display:none;}

    in your custom CSS box under Customize-▸Additional CSS

    You might also need to disable Jetpack sharing buttons from pages.

    Let me know if this worked for you.

    Thank you Fotis!

    That certainly did the trick. I really appreciate your assistance. Thats also given me a boost to sort out my CSS coding.

    Cheers!
