Support » Plugin: Redirection » olddomain.com to newdomain.com

    Hi

I’ve used this plugin twice before with no problems, but for some reason can’t work out how to specify 301 redirects from: https://olddomain.com to https://newdomain.com. Then I need to add redirects e.g from: https://olddomain.com/blog/category/name to https://newdomain.com/different_name (but same article).

I have redirection installed on newdomain.com.

I think I must be either missing something today or the layout has changed since I last used the plugin (a couple of years ago) or I’ve just forgotten – but whatever I do I can’t get it to work.

Anyhow, I’m hoping your reply will help many other people…. Many thanks in advance.

PS – I have spent time searching this forum and going through your documentation..

You will also need Redirection installed on the old domain, otherwise it has no access to the domain.

    Dear friends,

Could someone help me with my issue. I had cloudways as hosting provider, and changed my old domain name to new domain name. To redirect my website from the old one to the new one, I had to just change the domain name and that’s it. Now I’m on other hosting provider, my old domain name biobay.be like this redirects immediately to biobey.be but I can access some pages trough old domain name like this

    https://www.biobay.be/product-cat/gezondheid/ is still not redirected
    to https://www.biobey.be/product-cat/gezondheid/

when you click further it redirects but if yougo to url via google or directly via browser it does nto redirect.
I don’t have access to the old domain because it’s the same website only domain name changed. I mean domain name is still on my name. Should I make an new wordpress installation on biobay.be and put this in .htaccess?
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^example.com [NC,OR]
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.example.com [NC]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://example.net/$1 [L,R=301,NC]

Please can someone help me with this, I made the website myself

@ameliaakh how does this relate to the Redirection plugin? Also, it would be better to start a new topic with your problem rather than jumping into an existing and unrelated one.
